How do I connect QRBold to ChatGPT?

In ChatGPT, switch on Developer mode under Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings. Click Create, name the app QRBold, paste https://api.qrbold.com/mcp as the MCP server URL, choose Authentication: OAuth and save. Click Connect, sign in to QRBold and click Allow. ChatGPT can now create QR codes and digital business cards.

Before you start, you need two things

1. A QRBold account

Free is fine. Create one here. The assistant connection is included on every plan.

2. A ChatGPT plan with Developer mode

Adding your own app is a paid-plan feature. On Business, Enterprise or Edu workspaces an admin may need to allow it first.

    Copy the QRBold link

    Click Copy. You will paste this in step 4.

    In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors

    Click your profile picture (bottom-left on desktop, top-right on mobile), choose Settings, then Apps & Connectors. In some versions it is just called Connectors.

    Switch on Developer mode

    On the Apps & Connectors page, open Advanced settings (near the bottom) and switch on Developer mode.

    This is the step most people miss. Without it there is no way to add an app by link.

    Click “Create” and fill in the form

    Go back to the top of Apps & Connectors and click Create.

    Name: QRBold. Description: anything, e.g. “QR codes and digital business cards”.

    MCP Server URL: paste https://api.qrbold.com/mcp.

    Authentication: choose OAuth. Leave client ID and secret empty — QRBold fills those in automatically.

    Tick the “I trust this application” box and click Create.

    Click “Connect”

    QRBold now appears in your apps list. Click Connect. A QRBold page opens.

    Sign in to QRBold and click Allow

    Sign in if you are not already. Read the short list of what ChatGPT will be able to do, then click Allow. You are sent back to ChatGPT with QRBold marked as connected.

    Nothing about your QRBold password reaches ChatGPT. It only gets a limited access token you can cancel any time.

    Turn it on in a chat and ask

    Start a new chat. Click the + button in the message box, choose More (or Apps) and pick QRBold. Now ask, in your own words.

    ChatGPT shows a short note when it uses QRBold, then the result. Everything it creates also appears in your QRBold dashboard.

If something does not work

There is no “Create” buttonDeveloper mode is off. Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → switch on Developer mode. On a company workspace an admin may have to allow it.
ChatGPT answers without using QRBoldClick + in the message box, choose More / Apps, and tick QRBold for this chat. Or start your message with “Using QRBold, …”.
“Request expired” on the QRBold pageThe Allow page is valid for 10 minutes. Go back to ChatGPT and click Connect again.
ChatGPT says the connection failed after AllowRemove the app in ChatGPT and create it again with the same link and Authentication: OAuth.

How to disconnect

In QRBold, open Settings → Developer API → Connected apps and click Disconnectnext to ChatGPT. Access ends on its next request. You can also remove the app in ChatGPT’s Apps & Connectors page — but the QRBold side is what actually revokes access.
